All claims to believe in a sole something
Before their eyes an image is clear
The hypocrisy is here
Your true self is revealed
A disgusting being
You choose to overlook their wrongful doing
You point at others but not the ones you held so close
You bite your tongue, because it’s the only one that you know
You show sympathy to those you oppose
You believe there’s a chance for hope
You wear your heart on your sleeve
But it seems to slip so easily
All due to your fucked thinking
I wish you pain
I wish you hell
Live your life wishing on a wishing well
Life is a hard pill to swallow
As pain is delivered your end will soon follow
Black and blue swollen shut
Nothing will save you from your disgust
Compelling metallic hardcore with an unusual, but welcomed take on vocals. Matching more of a sound akin to Type O Negative meets Integrity, it shreds through wonderfully varied powerful songs.
Roaring in scope, there are many moments of more traditional furiousity, but most of the album maintains an air of spectacle due to the vocals. Not theatric, but they add a presence to the album. The guitars are properly riff filled, and the drums carry everything along with battering precision. Lorenzo

Chokehold, a metallic hardcore band from Canada, with Beastie Boys touches. Their 2nd LP Content with Dying is easily their angriest and most passionate. This 1995 LP is impressively simplistic. Keeping a mid-tempo on the LP, they plod and chug along with some headbanging riffs, well shown on the opening track "Underneath". Not the most varied record, it's the same kind of chuggy riffs through the whole LP. Yet this LP remains one of the heaviest in the genre. Essential for any 90s hardcore fan! xhrl_
