A dead end street
The sound of the end of a heartbeat
Violence is sought when nothing is redeemed
As revenge is sought there will be no mercy
An endless sacrifice from a growing seed
You take everything away from me
Judgment. Unfaithful. Disbelieving.
Everything you describe me to be
You always said by any means, you would do what’s necessary
You turned your back on your youngest offering
Never tell me who to be
Forcing me to love my greatest enemy
I hate everything I love around me
You swing your fist
I turn the other cheek
That’s what you taught me
Now you betray me
Mercy killer
Bring me suffering
Compelling metallic hardcore with an unusual, but welcomed take on vocals. Matching more of a sound akin to Type O Negative meets Integrity, it shreds through wonderfully varied powerful songs.
Roaring in scope, there are many moments of more traditional furiousity, but most of the album maintains an air of spectacle due to the vocals. Not theatric, but they add a presence to the album. The guitars are properly riff filled, and the drums carry everything along with battering precision. Lorenzo

Chokehold, a metallic hardcore band from Canada, with Beastie Boys touches. Their 2nd LP Content with Dying is easily their angriest and most passionate. This 1995 LP is impressively simplistic. Keeping a mid-tempo on the LP, they plod and chug along with some headbanging riffs, well shown on the opening track "Underneath". Not the most varied record, it's the same kind of chuggy riffs through the whole LP. Yet this LP remains one of the heaviest in the genre. Essential for any 90s hardcore fan! xhrl_
